Prayer is talking and listening to God. Jesus gave His disciples a model of how to communicate with His Father. They were to address the Father, praise and thank God, ask forgiveness, voice requests and wait and rest in God to answer as He knows best and in His time.
Jesus also shared prayer postures and prayer secrets. He knew the importance of spending time in prayer and often woke early to talk with His Father and He would spend time away from people to discuss things with God. Jesus knew the importance of prayer and we should follow His example.
