Sometimes it’s meaningful to read a prayer and agree with the writer as you verbalize it. Here’s a profound thanksgiving prayer for your preschoolers or grade school students:
God made the sun; God made the tree.
God made the mountains and God made me.
Thank You God, for the sun and trees.
Thank You, God, for the making the mountains and for making me. Amen.
This prayer is a prayer of thanks to our Creator; notice after you recognize that God is the Originator of all things, the response is to thank Him. George Washington Carver said, “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.” Take some time and brainstorm amazing creations (mountains, butterflies, people, etc.). Now read Isaiah 40:28, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary...” Our response to be to remember that God is the Maker of our beautiful earth and all His creations point to Him.”
