I like to get compliments; like when someone remarks a worship set, I’ve put together or when a friend positively comments on something I’m wearing. We all like to be praised! Praise means to declare approval to someone; it means saying something good about another person or something they’ve done. Because we are made in God image, we know that if we liked to be complimented, God do too; He desires to be praised. The Bible commands us to praise God. Daniel 4:37 says, “Praise and extol and honor the King of heaven…”
When praising God, remember to use descriptive praise. Think about specific elements of what makes God “God.” Here’s an example from I Timothy 1:17, “Now to the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the Only Wise God, be honor and glory forever.” The writer has thought about God and declares He is Eternal, Immortal, Invisible and Wise! Today, I praise God that He is my Healer, Provider, Strength, Hope and Savior. For what do you praise God today?
